Personalized services

Standard reception room at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation CentreWhat does that mean exactly? It means that whether you are seeking a basic cremation with cremated remains scattered in a personally meaningful place, a full traditional funeral service in our formal chapel followed by a cemetery burial, or a modern celebration of life with live music, catering and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of you or your loved one, Coutts Funeral Home and Cremation Centre will manage every detail.

From bagpipes to cupcakes, convertibles to putters, we take the things that mattered to someone and string them together to create a singular, heartfelt celebration.

History

Our story begins in 1937, when Harrold W. Gray established Gray Funeral Home in a historical stone home in Galt at 96 Saint Andrews Street. Times have changed—and so did the name, when Wilfred R. Coutts Sr. bought Gray Funeral Home in 1947—but our commitment to compassionate care has never wavered.

Our historical home

The house was built between 1852 and 1854 and was the residence of local lawyer Aemilus Irving and his family. By 1872, the property had changed hands to Adam Warnock, founder of Galt Knitting Company, which later became Tiger Brand Knitting Company. In 1947, Wilfred R. Coutts Sr. bought Gray Funeral Home from Harrold and changed the name to Coutts Funeral Home.
